Paste on Cursor & Stamp
Paste with the objects on the mouse instead of where they were saved and, with Continuous Stamp, leave a copy at every click. Everything here is.
Paste on Cursor
With the toolbar button on, any Paste (local, remote, from the HUD or from the browser) starts a tool, and the objects hang off the cursor. Click to set them down. Hold and drag up or down to scale them before letting go (with Scale on Drag). Right-click to cancel, and nothing is left in the scene. The prompt line says the same.
Off, the paste lands where the objects were when they were copied: the same place in another scene, or a duplicate on top of the original in the same one.
Where it lands
| Align to Surface | On, a ray from the cursor finds the surface under it and the objects stand on that surface, wherever it faces. Off, they drop onto the active construction plane (the home grid, or a grid object you have activated) and scene geometry is ignored. |
Continuous Stamp
With Continuous Stamp on as well, a click sets the copy down and the next copy is already on the cursor. Every click leaves another; right-click when you are done, and everything you placed is selected. Drag-scale on one stamp carries to the next, so a row of stamps scaled once stays that size.
Every paste
These apply to every paste, on the cursor or not:
| Auto-Group Dropped Objects | The pasted objects grouped, so a paste of twenty parts is one thing to move. |
| Send to Active Layer | The pasted objects put on the current layer instead of the layers they were saved with. |
